The Challenge

LogiGear’s client represents a startup that develops an open-source library of modular electronics that snap together with small magnets for prototyping and learning. Their mission is to place the power of electronics in the hands of everyone. Breaking down complex technologies in a way that anyone could build, prototype, and invent, their product uses app-enabled robots to foster creativity through discovery and play, all while laying the foundation for computer science. To guarantee their aim of combining fun and education for robotics and programming for children in global markets including the Asia-Pacific Region and Europe, our client needed to make international accommodations for their products and services.

The Solution

Comprehensive localization testing for a mobile application, desktop application, and website languages included: English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Arabic, Finnish, Hebrew, Dutch, Norwegian Bokmal, and Swedish. The localization testing needed to be more than simple translation testing; hence, it was crucial that all of the parts not only worked and integrated but also fulfilled the goal of instructing the users, no matter what language.

Compliance requirement assurance: The product’s primary user base is children under 18; therefore, there were a tremendous number of legal requirements for the client. LogiGear enabled testing for compliance with the various legal requirements for each locale.

The Result

LogiGear’s localization testing allowed the client to successfully expand their product into new markets; their product now boasts:

  • 4.5 million users worldwide
  • 40,000+ educators
  • 20,000+ institutions using the product
  • 1,000,000+ inventions created using the product
